1920s Vintage Wedding Dresses

All about 1920s Vintage Wedding Dresses

The 1920s were especially important for women, and not just because of the change in fashion.

This was the decade of the women's liberation movement. The movement changed many things, including the way women were dressing, that's why dresses from this decade have a special look.

In the 1920'a women suddenly started to wear different dresses, and this had a great influence also on the way wedding dresses were made.

If you love veils, you should choose one of the 1920s vintage wedding dresses. In that time veils became much more important than before, thanks to the influence of the women's liberation movement.

Many women decided to cut their hair, and because of this they used much longer and nicer veils when they got married. This was necessary because women with short hair had a manly look, which had to be compensated with long and fancy veils on their wedding days.

The most common veils were cap veils, made of tulle and lace. They were often very long, the reached until the heals of the bride.

Veils were not only longer than before, but they were also much fancier. They were often decorated with lace, flowers and so on. Sometimes a crown of flowers was placed on the top on the veil, which looked truly beautiful.

If you like cap veils, a wedding dress in this retro style would be perfect for you. The cap veil made the brides of this decade look truly beautiful.

As the veils were much nicer than before, more elegant and more stylish, the dresses became a bit more simple. Most of the dresses were resembling a chemise, long, white and very simple.

Even though the wedding dresses were simpler, it was barely visible because the veil covered a large part of the dress anyway. 1920s vintage wedding dresses will fit anyone who loves elegance and style.
