1970s Vintage Wedding Dresses

The 70s and the 1970s Vintage Wedding Dresses

The 70s were a bit more peaceful than the 60s.

In this time fashion wasn't as glamorous as it was in the 60s: wedding dresses weren't as gorgeous and luxurious anymore. The 70s were the times of unique wedding dresses.

Style changed: women no longer tried to be like Hollywood stars, so the dresses in the 70s were usually one of a kind. If you want to have a wedding dress inspired by the 70s, you will have many styles to chose from, and surely you will like some of them a lot.

It's hard to describe how the wedding gowns looked in this decade, because there were so many varieties. Usually fabrics like silk, chiffon and satin were used to make the dresses, just like before, but when nylon appeared it represented a big change in fashion. Fabrics were cheaper and because of that it was easy to have a nice wedding dress. Nylon started to be used to make wedding gowns as well.

Some of the 1970s vintage wedding dresses have Camelot sleeves, long sleeves that looked very nice on the brides. Later dresses decorated with ruffles started to become popular: ruffles decorated especially the arms of the gown.

The Neo-Victorian style was also very popular in the 70s. This retro style was similar to the Victorian age fashion, wedding dresses in the Neo-Victorian style have a raised waist and fluffy sleeves. Long trains were in fashion as well, since this made the dresses very elegant.

As you see, there are many styles to choose from when it comes to the 1970s wedding gowns. If you would like a dress from this decade, you should take a look at them, because only than can you make a decision and buy a 1970s vintage wedding dresses.
