About Me

All little girls like dressing up in their mother’s clothes, but I always liked my grandma’s closet better. Some of my earliest, most cherished memories date back to my childhood and the carefree times I spent with my grandmother. I loved listening to her stories about her youth and the good old times, and I always imagined how great it would be if I could have lived then.

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon grandma’s closet one day. When she found me, I was parading in front of a mirror in her oversized dress and shoes, and her pearl necklace around my tiny neck. Grandma laughed and instead of yelling at me for scattering her clothes, she opened another closet and pulled out even more clothes. Since then, every time I visited grandma, my favorite part was visiting her closet.

When I was a bit older, grandma took down a big box from the top of the closet, and pulled out the most magnificent peace of clothing I have ever seen- her wedding dress. She showed me old black and white pictures of her wedding, and then carefully unfolded the dress and told me I could try it on. I remember the excitement I felt when I looked at myself in the mirror, the feeling of pride, the spirit of my grandmother embedded in this wonderful, white dress that even smelt like the good old days. That scent of past times stayed with me long after I took the dress off.

Some time ago I stumbled upon an old, dusty box in the attic. I wiped the dust off, and opened the box that contained my most precious childhood memories that started rushing back. I started to reminisce the good old times, the time when everything was much more relaxed and peaceful.

I realized that no matter what are the times, the past always seems a bit better than the present. Every period has its own good and bad sides, and I found a great way to bring the spirit of the past to the present.

I’ve always loved vintage clothes, but recently remembered how it all began. Since then, my love for vintage has only grown even more, and I started visiting vintage shops. I found that just a few retro things really brought up my feminine side and took me back to the good old times. I only regret that I didn’t remember it earlier, and it has now occurred to me that a vintage wedding would be the most perfect wedding idea. That is why I decided to share my love for vintage with all the brides-to-be.

Nowadays, weddings are much different than they used to be, and even a white dress is not a must-have anymore. So if you would like to have an old fashion wedding and be reminded of the traditional values, this is a place for you. Here you can find great ideas, from wedding dresses, engagement rings to the vintage wedding cakes.

I hope you will forgive my mistakes, since English is not my native language, and I live in Europe. But living on the old continent has just given me a wider cultural variety and a chance to access some wonderful clothes at their very own origin. I will try to make this website even more versatile and I hope it will help you in creating your perfect vintage wedding day!
