However, she has quite an unusual taste: for her wedding she wanted to have a pink wedding dress in the retro style. Her parents were very surprised at first when they heard this idea, they preferred a more traditional wedding.
Even though they found the idea of a retro wedding acceptable, they had a hard time imagining their daughter the bride dressed in a vintage wedding gown that is pink. Her mom told her in the beginning that she won't find a pink wedding gown in the retro style anyway, but she was determined to have one.
I helped her look for a vintage pink wedding dress. After looking everywhere we finally found one on Ebay. I'm not even sure whether it was an original wedding gown from the retro times or just a reproduction, but it was very sweet: it had a faded soft pink color that fitted with the style of the dress.
It was sort of like a cocktail dress, made of chiffon and silk, which had a beautiful shape that emphasized the feminine forms of my friend. When she tried it on I knew searching for the dress was worth it: she looked so adorable in it. It seems that getting married in a pink wedding dress is not that unusual. Many brides choose to wear this color because white is too usual for them and they want to wear something different.
The parents of my friend liked the wedding dress in the end even though they didn't really like the idea of a pink wedding gown. They were glad that she was so happy. They had to admit that after all the color isn't the most important thing and that she was a beautiful bride even in vintage pink wedding dress.
