Vintage Wedding Gowns

Vintage wedding gowns for all tastes

There are many dreamers and hopeless romantics this age, who often suffer because they can't find cloths and outfits in their favorite styles.

There are many alternative retro styles that are popular only amongst a small group of people. Did it ever happen to you that you went from shop to shop, but you never found anything you really liked?

Many people have the same problem, because even though the cities are full of shops, there are very few that actually sell something unique and stylish. Buying something unique is very hard, and when you have the money but you can't find anything you like, life can seem very ironic.

If you are dreaming sometimes of the old ages, when everything was different, when ladies were walking around in beautiful gowns and sweet little dresses, you should look at some special wedding gowns for your wedding, inspired from a different age. They are simply cute and adorable, and if you wear them you will look very sweet.

Vintage wedding gowns are truly beautiful. Which vintage style do you like? Vintage usually refers to the period after the second world war, the time of the 1940's. However, for many people vintage means more than that.

The Victorian and the Gothic style are also often considered vintage. There is the classical Victorian style, which has an aura of elegance about it. It is inspired by the age of the reign of queen Victoria, when women were still wearing long, wide, beautiful dresses.

Vintage gowns that are imitations of dresses from the Victorian age are very elegant. They usually have other color than white, or white combined with black. If you don't want to wear a white wedding dress, a vintage gown is suitable for you.

Another vintage style is the Gothic one, which is very similar to the classic Victorian style. Gothic dresses have darker colors, like deep purple, red, burgundy or black.

Some of the gowns are inspired from other historical eras. Celtic and fantasy dresses are very popular for their features that look like from a fairytale.

But let's talk more about the real vintage era, and this beautiful retro style. Vintage wedding dresses imitate the style worn in the times of the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's.

More widely the term vintage includes all years from the 1920's until the 1990's. You probably didn't live in those times, but you surely recognize this style from old movies.

In that time fashion was altogether different. Women didn't wear pants like now: cute stylish dresses were in fashion, made of light colors and soft materials. Wedding dresses in that time were much more simple than now, but more elegant and chic.

These vintage dresses are very unique. You can find original ones on the internet that are old but are still in a very good shape. The disadvantage of these wedding gowns is that they are expensive, and let's face it, quite old.

Most of the people prefer to wear something brand new on their wedding. Fortunately there are beautiful reproductions for very affordable prices. These gowns are actually cheaper than most of the traditional wedding dresses.

The material, color and shape of the vintage dresses is like it was in the time after the war. The style of the dresses is very unique, and if you are bored of traditional weddings, you should wear a special wedding gown.

The vintage wedding gowns are made of materials like chiffon, silk, velvet and satin, they are often cream colored, and they are simply beautiful.
